Those two words summed up the relief Bathurst City player-coach Lisa Quinn felt as her side finally opened its women's Premier League Hockey account on Saturday.

After going winless through the first two rounds and being held goalless too, Quinn was delighted that her side was able to turn things around with a 4-0 win over Lithgow Zig Zag.

"Thank crikey," Quinn said after the victory in Lithgow.

"It actually felt like a bit of relief. I felt like we had played well in the last two games.

"I felt really disheartened for the girls because I felt like we'd been training well and we'd been playing well, but we just weren't getting those goals in.

"This is a nice reward for them, we are really aiming for the top four, I still believe we are in with a chance of making the semis."

Having gone down 1-0 to Souths in its season opener then suffering a 4-0 loss at the hands of Orange CYMS, City made the trip to Lithgow under plenty of pressure.

The first quarter City did not play with the sort of intensity that has been a trademark of its hockey, but after the break things changed.

Quinn altered her line-up and urged her players to switch on. To her relief, they responded.

"We didn't have a great first quarter, we started slow, but then we made a positional change and that made a massive difference," Quinn said.

"We gave ourselves a little bit of a kick up the bum, we got ourselves together at the break and came back with a little bit more intensity, a little bit more fire in our belly and put a goal away early."

After that opening goal, City further upped its attacking pressure.

Three more came in quick succession to secure the win for City and what was pleasing for Quinn was the build which led to them.

Bridget Ellis bagged a double, emerging talent Kelsey Webb got on the score sheet and so too did Bec Bosianek.

"They were really good team goals. There were a pass or two leading up to scoring those goals, so that was really pleasing and rewarding to know that we can work together as a team and had people in the right positions to get those shots away," Quinn said.
