Among them are three exhibitions currently showing at the Bathurst Regional Art Gallery on Keppel Street.
BRAG is open from 11am-2pm on Sunday if you want to take mum out for Mother's Day.
The three exhibitions are:
EuroVisions: Contemporary Art from the Goldberg Collection: Contemporary European artworks drawn from the family collection of Lisa and Danny Goldberg OAM.
Featuring works by leading contemporary artists from Europe, EuroVisions presents a vibrant cross-section of recent developments in international art showcasing the diversity and exuberance of innovative practices and contemporary culture.
A unique opportunity to directly experience these rarely seen and significant works.
Fabrice Cazenave: The Garden of Shadows: A collection of work developed during Fabrice Cazenave's six-week residency at Murrays Cottage as the inaugural French Artist in Residence (FAR) in Hill End in 2018.
Based on the allegory of Plato's Cave, Cazenave made large charcoal drawings on canvas of the shadows of the cottage as well as drawings made with closed eyes.
The resulting works question our relationship to reality and truth where meanings are reversed and hidden.
Artexpress: Artworks created by NSW visual arts students for the HSC examination.
This is a celebration of creativity, student achievement and the role the visual arts play in responding to current topics.
It features ceramics, collection of works, drawing, painting, photomedia, printmaking, sculpture, and time-based work.
High tea
MAYBE your mum would prefer high tea at Abercrombie House from 2.30pm-4pm.
It includes scrumptious savoury and sweet treats and tasting plates, leaf tea, plunger coffee and elegant live classical Celtic Harp music.
The main rooms and gardens are also open for you to explore.
Tickets 6331 4929 or contact the Bathurst Visitors Centre.
Live music
THE Morton Choppers will be playing at the O'Connell Hotel from 2pm-6pm on Sunday.
The band will be playing for the first time in the old gold mining village on a Sunday afternoon and bringing bush ballads, gospel blues and sweet acoustic folk.
Best of all, it's free.
Welsh tales
FINALLY, if mum fancies a trip to Lithgow on Sunday you can catch the Adverse Camber Welsh storytellers at the Gang Gang Gallery from 4.30pm.
Based among the historic mills of Cromford, Derbyshire, Adverse Camber are in Australia for a limited tour and will be playing in Lithgow on Mother's Day.
Welsh storytellers create a magical world in which traditional stories and extraordinary storytelling performances are an essential part of life.
Their shows are devised with artists who are all leaders in their fields. $10 at the door includes a glass of wine. See them if you can.
