That's because the Demons have upped the ability to travel this season and came close to knocking over the Bushrangers' clubmates Rebels earlier this season.
Granted that match came back in round one, with both sides still finding their footing in the competition, but it's enough to put Outlaws on alert for a Demons side capable of packing a punch.
Outlaws can take third spot away from Demons with a victory but to make it happen co-coach Steve Grundy knows there's plenty of work ahead for the Bushrangers men.
"They've been very impressive so far this year. Looks like they've got some good new recruits and kept that core group together that they've had for the past couple of years and they've racked up some big scores," he said.
"I watched their game against Rebels but it was round one and both teams probably didn't have their full lineups. We know the way the play, the have some big bodies in there, have a good forwards set up and not a bad midfield.
"It's a big challenge for us, to see where we are heading this season, and a lot of our players are excited for this one."
Outlaws were at their best last weekend in a dispatching of the Parkes Panthers, snapping a two-game losing run in a big way.
The team's forward deliveries came more easily and, led by a four goal effort from Alex Sparks, took their opportunities when they came.
Demons are expected to provide a tougher challenge for the Bushrangers but a similar performance from the Bathurst men compared to last Saturday will go a long way towards getting the Outlaws the desired outcome.
"What we really want to focus on this weekend is that Dubbo are a physical team and we want to match them in that area," Grundy said.

"We have to be clean with our possession because they're quick to pounce on a loose football.
"We really have to attack the football, use it well when we've got it, and get going movement going in our forwards.
"The result last weekend will bring us confidence and we've got players back for this game. Selections will be tough this week, which is a really good thing for our squad.
"Dubbo are towards being one of benchmark teams in the competition and we think we're at that level so to be the best you've got to beat the best."
The Outlaws-Demons game caps off a big double header for the club at 2.30pm, following on from the Rebels-Panthers clash at 12pm.
"We don't lose many games at George Park and we pride ourselves on making it a tough ground to come to," Grundy said.
"We really want to keep that trend going this season."
