The council provides a key link between young people in the Bathurst region, Bathurst Regional Council and other youth service providers in the region.
The council also helps develop and promote activities that encourages social interaction and inclusion of young people in the Bathurst region.
Some of these activities include organising events for the National Youth Week, such as fan-fiction writing workshops, augmented reality (AR) escape room challenges, Bluntside skateboarding clinic, Veritas House presents Youth Week and various other youth events.
The youth council has also, in the past, partnered with local organisations to deliver projects such as You've Got This, a mental health campaign, partnered with headspace Bathurst.
Schools represented in the youth council includes Bathurst High, Kelso High, St Stanislaus' College, Scots All Saints College, MacKillop College, Charles Sturt University, TAFE and headspace.
People from aged 15 to 18 are allowed to apply and applications close on June 12.
The current Bathurst youth mayor is Gabrielle Boshier and the deputy is Lydia Nichols.
