A CYCLIST has been airlifted to a Sydney hospital suffering serious injuries after colliding with a sheep and coming off his bike.

The 52-year-old was riding on the Lagoon Road on Wednesday morning when the incident occurred.
A spokesperson for NSW Ambulance said they received a Triple-0 call just before 7am saying a man had been injured after coming off his bike.
One unit responded and treated the man for serious chest injuries and back pain at the scene.
He was then transferred to Orange Base Hospital via road ambulance in a stable condition.
A spokesperson for the hospital said the man's condition remained stable and he was to be airlifted to Westmead Hospital on Wednesday evening.
The condition of he sheep is unknown.
