Senate candidate for Saturday's federal election Brett Cooke was joined by the party's state government members Robert Borsak, Mark Banasiak and Roy Butler in Orange on Wednesday to push the party's case.

However, the SFF candidate for Calare, Sam Romano, was not present.

Mr Cooke said farms should be considered at the same security level as power stations and any trespassing or crimes brought upon farmers by vegan activists should have penalties up to imprisonment.

"It is certainly terrorising behaviour," he said.

"If elected I will see that legislation be introduced to protect our farmers from vegan activism with tough penalties which might include imprisonment."

He said a jail term should be considered where there was a combination of "elements of a number of offences into one more serious offence".

"Farm security is food security and food security is national security," he said.

"Farmers have very real concerns about vegan activism and the rise of that. There has been a lack of government intervention into this disruption and carnage to our farmers and lawful farming practices throughout Australia."

He said Calare farmers were not caught up in vegan activism events against Australian farmers in April, but he said his concern extended to the whole country.

Mr Borsak said the government needed to provide water infrastructure and relief for farmers, plus more power stations, as Australia faced drought and climate change.

"We believe climate change is happening but we don't believe humans are causing it," he said.

"The biggest influencer of the climate on this planet is the sun. That's the reality of it. The sun goes through cycles."

He said scientific research, reports and arguments supporting human blame for climate change, were wrong and he did not support calls for Australia to cutback on industrial outputs.

"Do we need to return Australia back to [pre-industrial] 1788, do you actually think if we did it would make any difference at all?" he said.

"What we are seeing is Doomsday mongering of the worst kind. It's a Doomsday cult to get people under control."
