Accompanied by their owners, dogs of all shapes and sizes completed a lap of the path winding around the river.
The charity event is run each year nationwide by the RSPCA, and raises much-needed funds to tackle the issue of animal cruelty.
RSPCA's Bathurst branch president Margaret Gaal said the funds raised from the event will go towards a continued local push to improve the well-being of animals.
"A portion of the funds will go towards the biannual pet desexing program we have in place for low-income earners," she said.
"We also assist members of the community who cannot afford various other pet-related services, such as when they are faced with the sad decision of having to put a pet down."
Ms Gaal, who is also the senior ranger at the Bathurst Small Animal Pound, said it was fabulous to see so many members of the community out and about with their beloved companions.
"It's really important to ensure that your dog is loved and respected, because the love they have for humans is unconditional," she said.
"Dogs love being out and about, and this event proves that they share a special place in the lives of the wider community.
"This event is terrific for Bathurst, and we hope to see it continue."
