Bathurst Regional Council's director of Engineering Services, Darren Sturgiss, said that the council staff were in the process of remedying and rectifying the works in Bathurst and Prince streets.

These are the final steps for the project, with access set to be restored "by the end of the financial year".
What council posted 12 months ago:
Mr Sturgiss said the works were delayed due to issues with the contractor, but these have been resolved.
"The ongoing project, situated along Bathurst and Perth streets, commenced last year and has been designed to improve road surfaces and stormwater drainage," he said.
"In February this year, council removed the contractor from the project due to the rate of progress and the conduct of the contractor."
