After securing a 2-1 win over CSU on Sunday, Panorama Black have gone four points clear of intra-club rivals and defending champions Panorama Red on the Bathurst District Football men's premier leauge ladder.
And while it may only be seven rounds into the 2019 season, it's a great sign for the Black side, who has finished well behind their Red counterparts in the past two seasons.
In 2017, Black finished in sixth, but enjoyed seven wins from 18 games, but it was Red in the grand final, who were denied a maiden premier league title by CSU White, in a match full of late drama.
In 2018, Black finished in sixth again, enough for a play-off spot, but they managed just five wins from 16, while they sat on the sidelines and saw Red claim a 3-1 win in the grand final against Mudgee Wolves.
But after picking up some solid players from the Red side, including 2019 grand final two-goal hero Jacob Soetens, and from outside the club, Black are on the rise.
A great passing game was key to Black's success against the Stags on Sunday according to coach Brock Collins.
"The boys played really well, knocking the ball around, which helped slowed the game down a lot," he said.
"We had a couple of breakthroughs via Jacob Soetens and Majd Elkheir but we couldn't penetrate the goal keeper much. He was in fine form."
It was a tough start to the game for Black according to Collins, but his side managed to control the possession and had the run of the chances.
But Majd Elkheir was the only Black player to score in the opening half and at 1-0 heading into the last minute of play for the first half, CSU found a breakthrough and napped an equaliser within 20 seconds of the break.
The late equaliser didn't faze the Black side and they remained composed in the second half and went hunting for the winner.
It came from Soetens with 10 minutes remaining, sealing another win for Black and keeping them within touching distance of leaders Lithgow Workmen's Club.
"It was a close game but I definitely felt like we deserved the win," Collins said.
"We just came out on top."

Throughout the match, Black favoured the 4-3-3 formation, something that the side has used for the past two seasons.
"We play our way and as a club, we like to have the same set style, so we can go forward playing that same style, passing the ball well," Collins explained.
In other results, Panorama Red drew 1-1 with Abercrombie on Saturday night, whileWorkmen's Club enjoyed a big 5-2 win away against Mudgee Wolves.
