Starting from box number seven, Irondale Lima, who was backed at $11 odds, jumped to the front early and never looked back in the Duke's Ladbrokes Previews Final (450 metres).
A fast finishing Timetable ($61) was unable to catch the two-year-old winner, in a race that featured wet and chilly conditions.
Maryvale trainer Tania Trappett made the trip from just north of Wellington to Bathurst on Monday afternoon and while she saw snow on the way to town, she said her dog adapted well to the conditions.
"It was snowing in Orange on the way. It's a bit cold, not like the weather back home," she said.
"I was pretty happy with the win. It was really awesome. Once he got to the front, it was always going to be hard to chase him down."
It was a happy day for Trappett, as she saw her other dog Irondale Romeo win the first race of the 11 race meeting.
Irondale Romeo is a brother to Irondale Lima, with the pair both from Fabregas x Irondale Bravo.

Tullabung Rider ($2.30 favourite), trained by Agnes Banks' Mary Hughes, rounded out the places, finishing 1.75 metres off the winner in third.
Irondale Lima has now collected a total of two wins throughout his seven-race career.
He's also claimed two other placings - one second and one third, amassing a handy $3605 throughout his career so far.
