I READ with interest Rusty Marsh's letter headed Manufactured Evidence To Back Climate Change Myth, published recently in the Western Advocate (May 13).

I was intrigued to learn there is a person in Bathurst who is so knowledgeable he could claim that "there is no science to support the man-made climate-change myth".
I surmise that Rusty has looked at all of the evidence for and against climate change, including global warming and found it wanting.
I don't fit his list of those not to be listened to - left-wing politicians, journalists, and celebrities! I am a hard-nosed evidence-based scientist who has also looked at a sample of the available evidence and concluded that the evidence for climate change and global warming is overwhelming.
Hence I challenge Rusty March to a public debate on the topic of his claim that "there is no scientific evidence to support the man-made climate-change myth" at a mutually agreeable time and place.
I suggest an independent chair, 20 minutes for each speaker, followed by five minutes each for rebuttal and closing remarks, and subsequently followed by questions from the audience. Further, if we agreed on a gold coin entry fee, that could be gifted to Daffodil Cottage.
What sayest thou Rusty? It's time that we both stood up for our views so that the public can judge for themselves the truth of the various arguments.
