WHILE Bathurst City was not quite able to spring a women's Premier League Hockey upset on Saturday, a 1-all draw against undefeated competition leaders Lithgow Panthers showed it is improving.

With just one win through the first five rounds of the competition, City was hungry to inflict Panthers' first loss of the season and make it three wins in a row on Lithgow turf against the heavyweights.
However, they finished with a share of the points as Bec Bosianek scored for City and Mackenzie Stewart struck for the hosts.
Bathurst City captain and striker Bec Bosianek said overall she thought her team worked well as they posted their second 1-all draw in as many weeks.
What improved from last week's draw against Ex-Services was the positive communication.
"Our talk was much better this week, we moved the ball around well and made the most of our opportunities we had," she said.
"We supported each other and the ball, we were hopeful for a win but we'll try in a couple of weeks we want to make the final four in the season."

Panthers coach David Marshall admitted his team - missing a number of regular starters - didn't play their best but was happy enough with a scrappy draw.
"We didn't go too bad, had four of our critical starting line-up players out today but we went well considering the amount of players we had," he said.
While Panthers are sitting on top of the Premier League table, it sets up an intriguing contest against Orange CYMS in a fortnight. The Lithgow outfit should be at full strength for that clash.
"The CYMS have only been beaten once and we haven't been beaten yet, this is our first draw this year and the girls are up for the challenge," he said.
"Those [returning] girls will be able to strengthen us up in the midfield, we've still got a long way to go until the end of the season so I suppose we will see how we go but so far, so good."
