It's brought many a V8 driver to tears, but Mount Panorama was no match for police officer Phil Mounce-Stephens who did an excruciating 24 laps of the racetrack in a little over a 24-hour period.

Phil, a Bathurst man stationed at Orange Police Station, has been raising money and awareness for NSW Police Legacy, and as part of his campaign, undertook the 24-hour run / walk of the Mount starting 9am Saturday.
His partner Pip Press, who was at base camp, opposite Rydges Hotel the whole time said Phil was holding up well by mid Saturday afternoon.
"He ran the first six laps, and by 4pm, was onto the ninth," she said.
Pip said he hasn't had to walk a lap by his own.
"People have been amazing," she said.
Dominos also kept the walkers fed, delivering pizza up to the Mount.
At 7.40am Sunday morning, Phil had just completed his 22nd lap, and it was clearly taking its toll.
"I'm in so much pain, coming down the hill is agonising on my legs,' he said, as he changed his runners for the fifth time.
He paid tribute to everyone who had come and walked alongside him saying he doesn't think he would have been able to keep going without their support.
"Honestly they have kept me going."
At 12.20am he had a group of 13 walkers alongside him, in his third last lap that number grew to over 20.
When he went around against at 7.40am, the number was even bigger.
"I"d just like to say thanks to everyone for being here for me,' Phil said.
"There's no way I could have finished otherwise.The people who did it with me carried me through."
He also thanked his partner Pip, who stayed at base camp for the entire event.
"She has been amazing," he said.
