VERTO has been a proud host of the program throughout the Central West since 2003, and assists hundreds of Aboriginal job seekers each year to achieve their employment and training goals.
NCAP is funded through the NSW Department of Industry.
The program offers services such as career advice, resume writing, job application assistance, interview techniques, referrals to training and employment opportunities, and job placements and mentoring.
Employers can access services through the program which include advice on Aboriginal recruitment and selection, advising on workplace cultural matters and providing a link to local Aboriginal communities.
VERTO's Aboriginal employment adviser Desi Doolan works with employers, business groups, apprenticeship services, training and employment service providers to help connect Aboriginal people to opportunities.
"I enjoy the opportunity to work closely with Aboriginal communities to share information about what employment and training support is readily available locally," Desi said.
NCAP services are available through VERTO across the Mid-Western region, with services based in Bathurst and Orange but also available across Condobolin, Cowra, Forbes, Parkes, and other districts when required.
