The blue and whites haven't tasted successful since the second round of the Group 10 premier league season, which was a narrow 28-26 win over Lithgow Workies.
And while Saturday's opposition in Blayney aren't travelling well - they've lost all seven games so far this season and are conceding an average of 46.86 points a game - neither are St Pat's.
They sit second last and have the worst attack in the game, scoring only 104 points in seven matches to the start of the season.
Branighan is wary of the threat Blayney pose.
"I haven't seen them in the flesh, but my assistant Daniel Finn has. I've been made aware [by him] that they've been in most of their games for 60 minutes. Not all of their scores have reflected their performance," he said.
"We've just got to worry about ourselves this weekend. We haven't been travelling well and it's going to be a tough game. Going on form, you'd have to say there wouldn't be a struck match between the two sides at the moment."
Branighan admitted the game as a "must win".
"We've got some troops coming back after this game and we've probably been hit the hardest of any team by injuries," he said.
"We're playing at home and if we can get an improved performance and some confidence back, it can help us get back to playing the footy we were at the start of the year."
A win for the struggling St Pat's outfit would just be the third win of the season for the blue and whites, but it would put them back in the mix to claim a vital top five spot.
Kick-off from Jack Arrow Sporting Complex is at 2.30pm.
