The 2019 Hockey NSW Open Women's State Championships commenced in Bathurst on Saturday morning, and whoever said it's not easy being green clearly wasn't watching.

Bathurst 1 - a side in lime green and white - opened its campaign with a 3-0 win over Newcastle, with Kelly Baker, Sarah Watterson and Casey Miles all finding the mark.
Lithgow also in green, began with a win over Nepean 2 in division two while Bathurst's division three team downed its North West Sydney 2 rivals 1-0 thanks to finding the mark off a penalty corner.
