But she's supremely confident her champion Group 10 side has the experience to again take out the Western Rams league tag crown at Forbes on Saturday.
Dominant doesn't justify Group 10's run in the competition, winning all six titles since the league tag championship's inception.
Last year's 8-4 result was the closest Group 11 has come to knocking off Group 10 and while Somers says the gap between the two competitions is closing the players in her region are improving all the time as well.
Four of Somers' St Pat's teammates will join her on the rep scene on Saturday while Blayney sisters Abby and Sophie Stammers as well as Hawks pair Jes Pearson and Bec Ford represent from sides currently sitting the Group 10 league tag competition's top three.
With 10 players from last year's Group 10 side also set to back up in 2019, Somers believes that experience will be key.
"And I think playing a bit of a higher level week-in, week-out has been crucial for our success as well," Somers added, herself part of three of Group 10's six Western titles.

"I know all the girls gel together really well and play a few different sports together as well.
"I think the gap is closing. They've got a lot of young girls with pace and from what I hear Dubbo CYMS has a pretty handy side this season, so we're keen for Forbes next Saturday."
This will be Somers' first crack at coaching a senior side.
"I've done a little bit but mainly in touch, Gary Goldsmith rang me on Tuesday and asked if I'd be keen and I thought 'well I'm playing I may as well give it a crack'," she added.
St Pat's picked up a 22-18 win over Blayney on Saturday, Erin Naden starring, as did blue and white recruit Paige Hay.
Both are in the Group 10 fold this season and Somers was keen to pick the brains of the latter ahead of the representative derby.
"I'll definitely talk to Paige and get some insight there. She'll be keen to get one over them though I think," Somers said.
"I think Erin Naden's playing awesome at the moment. Sophie (Stammers) is always dangerous, Harriet (Messner) and Meredith (Jones), their combination in the middle of the field will be great to watch."
