And the Vixens will consider themselves unlucky not to claim the win, after taking the lead twice in the opening half, before the Nannies equalised from the spot in the second half under the lights at Proctor Park.

Ryan Burgoyne said the result was massive for his side.

"It felt great to take points off them," he said.

"We thought we were going to win, because we went 1-nil up and then it went to 1-1, then we went up 2-1 and then it was 2-2. We had it under control for most of the game.

"At one stage I thought, this could be us, our season might be back on track by knocking Pano off. Unfortunately we couldn't get the win. But we'll take a draw any day of the week against Pano."

Julia Koko opened the scoring for CSU, before Madi Gallegos pulled one back for the Nannies.

And just before the break Emily Thurlow gave the Vixens the go ahead goal.

A penalty from the spot in second half - Gallegos' second goal of the match - was enough for Panorama to salvage a point.

The result brings CSU up one position to second and equal on 17 points with Eglinton, but separated by the Vixens' superior goal difference.

However, CSU has played an extra game than Eglinton and their positions may change again come this weekend's next round of action.

Panorama remain in first, eight points clear of second.

Burgoyne said his team was happy with the 2-all draw, considering the last time the two teams played, the Vixens blew a 2-nil lead to suffer a heavy 6-2 defeat to Panorama.

"The girls were so happy, especially after the blowout result last time," he said.

"They had a bit of a celebration afterwards. They were so happy with a 2-2 draw."

Burgoyne said Emily Thurlow and Kelly Baker had standout performances in the game.

"Em Thurlow, getting another goal, she played really well," he said.

"Kelly Baker was up front and I think she got both the assists.

"It was one of those solid performances from those two standout players."

CSU did get the draw without Annabel Meadley, a loss that Burgoyne described as "big" for his side.

The result now gives CSU and the entire competition hope, knowing that Panorama can beaten.

"100 per cent [they can be beaten]," Burgoyne said.

"We know that if it's us two in the grand final, we know we can put one on them."

The match was one of several Panorama versus CSU match-ups on the night, with the premier league men Red side defeating CSU 5-2 and the second grade Vixens claiming a big win.
