Bathurst will have two clubs participating - the Bathurst City Amateur Swim Club and the Titanium Swim Club - with another 17 clubs from an area that includes everything in between Glenbrook to Forbes entered as well.

Manning Aquatic Centre Bathurst head coach Josh Stapley said the entries have been huge for the tournament and for local representation.

"We've got about 40 swimmers from the Bathurst club competing over the weekend, with about 300 entries," Stapley said.

"It's a pretty big turn out from the club, which is absolutely spectacular. We had the Orange carnival a couple of weeks ago, which kind of gave us an idea where everyone is at coming into these championships. We've got a lot of good prospects as well."

Stapley said this is one of the last carnivals for swimmers to qualify for the upcoming NSW Country Championships, which will be held next month at the Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre from June 5 to 7.

"We had a lot qualify from Orange a few weeks ago, so this is one of the last chance for swimmers to qualify for the Country Championships," he said.

He said he expects the swimmers to "lift" for this weekend's home carnival.

"It always make a big difference when competing at home," he said.

"Your club always lifts a lot when you get to be in your own environment and show-off to your home-town crowd."
