Year 3 student Emmett returned from last week's diocesan spelling bee in Wellington with a silver medal in his age group.
The spelling bee had attracted the best young spellers from Catholic schools stretching from Lithgow to Coonamble.
Holy Family representatives included Emmett, Felix Lindsay, Cami Bryant and Maddy Honeyman.

Emmett was crowned diocesan runner up and awarded a diocesan medal for his high achievement. Felix progressed through to the final round while Cami and Maddy participated in the preliminary rounds.
"We value competent student spellers at our school and this academic competition is an excellent opportunity for our students," principal Kevin Arrow said.
"We congratulate our 2019 reps with a special commendation to Emmett Jones for his achievement."
