Nominations opened on Monday for the 2019 Peak Connect Carillon Business Awards, with Bathurst Business Chamber president Angus Edwards saying it's the perfect time to celebrate successes.
"We're encouraging businesses to get online, put some thought and time into their entries," he said.
"It's a great opportunity for businesses to think about the last 12 months, how their businesses have been going, what challenges they've had, how they've met those challenges and really talk up some of the successes as well.
"I think business owners are so entrenched in the day-to-day running of their businesses, and they're doing really wonderful things, but they don't often talk about what they're doing.
"They should be shouting loudly from their rooftops about the great things they are doing and this is one way to do that."

Anyone can nominate a business or person for an award, however, it is up to the business to accept their nomination and enter a submission.
Mr Edwards said a conscious effort was made last year to simplify the process to enter the awards and people embraced the changes.
"It's a much easier process and that was reflected in the number of people who entered and did full complete submissions," he said.
Nominations close on July 17, with businesses able to enter until July 31.
To nominate or enter a submission, visit the business awards website.
Judging will commence on August 1. An independent panel of judges from outside Bathurst will be called upon to read the submissions and choose winners based on the information they provide.
As was done last year, there will be an international judge on the panel.
"It's a good, rigorous process ... there are some businesses out there who are just outstanding and do win a few years in a row, but last year we saw quite a few new businesses winning prizes, which is great," Mr Edwards said.
This year's gala dinner, where the awards will be presented to winners, will be held on October 18. The venue will be announced closer to the date.
Mr Edwards said the chamber was pleased to have major sponsor Peak Connect back on board this year, with operations manager Craig Townsend encouraging businesses to enter the awards.
"We're a big supporter of local business, so we see that a really good, long-standing business to support an event like this is something that's very important," Mr Townsend said.
"This is our third year [as major sponsor] and we're very excited and hoping that people can get many businesses involved," he said.
