With more than two weeks still to go until the festival launches, Bathurst Regional Council has already sold 1000 tickets for the premier attraction, the ice skating rink.
The attraction will be the centrepiece of the winter playground, which also features a two-storey carousel and ferris wheel.
Amazingly, 45 per cent of the tickets sold for the ice rink have come from people outside of the 2795 postcode.
Council has made a few changes to the ice skating sessions this year, choosing to offer several adults-only and kids-only sessions on the ice, as well as sessions dedicated to experienced skaters.
Mayor Graeme Hanger said this was in response to patron demand.
"[The decision was] based on feedback from previous years and we conducted surveys last year to see what our community wanted from the festival, and this suggestion was raised, so we made it happen," he said.
Residents will start to see the winter playground come to life in nine days time when construction gets under way.
Cr Hanger said that a section of Russell Street will be closed between George and William streets from 6am on June 29, until Saturday, July 27.
Temporary 'No parking' signs will be in place along Russell Street from 4pm the day prior to construction.
"Pedestrian access will remain to the civic centre, Bathurst Court House, Mitchell Conservatorium and Historical Society building during this period," Cr Hanger said.
