Branighan has been sidelined since St Pat's defeat to Cowra on May 12, having missed his side's four last games due to a torn pectoral muscle.
And his inclusion into the St Pat's lineup comes ahead of a big match on Sunday, with Workies winning three of their last four games, including a win over then ladder-leaders Mudgee Dragons in their last outing.
Branighan admitted Workies are one of the form teams of the competition.
"It'll be tough, they're one of the form teams of the competition and they just lost to Panthers and beat Mudgee," he said.
"They're a big strong, physical side and we'll have to be good to go down there and beat them."
One of those big players in the Lithgow line-up is former St Pat's coach Greg Behan.
Behan, who started the season with St Pat's, joined Workies in May due to work commitments.
He's fresh off leading the Group 10 side to a win over Group 11 last Saturday, so St Pat's will have to be on to handle the hulking prop forward.
"Lithgow have got plenty of strike across the field," he said.
"Greg has ended up there for work reason and he's one of many established forwards in their pack.
"At the end of the day, we'll worry about ourselves and if we play to our potential, we're a chance at winning the match."
Branighan is now keen to get back onto the paddock Sunday, after watching on from the sidelines.
"It's been hard sitting on the sideline watching the boys," he said.
"Even though we've copped some floggings, there has been some fight. Hopefully with some game management can get us back on track."
St Pat's won their last match, the 30-10 triumph over Blayney ending a five-game losing streak for the Bathurst-based club.
Lithgow's three wins from eight games is more games they won than in all 16 games in 2018, as they look to play in their first finals campaign since 2017, which ended in a first week loss.
Kick-off in premier league is from Tony Luchetti Sportsground at 2.15pm.
Under 18s league tag is at 9.30am, women's league tag at 10.30am, under 18s at 11.30am and first division at 12.45pm.
