The 'Bathurst- Step Beyond' app has continued to expand since its introduction last October, with five tours now available through the platform.
Some tours notably feature narration from celebrities associated with Bathurst, including television personality Grant Denyer and motor racing legend Craig Lowndes.
Bathurst Visitor Information Centre manager Dan Cove said the app provides an in-depth look into some of the region's most cherished locations.
"The idea is to take a key location within the community and provide people with an opportunity to learn about Bathurst's heritage through their mobile device," Mr Cove said.
"Now we've established the app, we can continue to populate it with more stories of the region."
Denyer, who lives in Bathurst, was brought on board to provide narration for the app's tour of the town square.
Meanwhile, Lowndes has provided an insight into the history of the Mount Panorama motor racing circuit, where he has won seven Bathurst 1000 titles.
"The Mount Panorama tour has GPS tracking, which allows tourists to drive around the circuit while listening to Lowndes explain the significance of the circuit's many turns," Mr Cove said.
Other available tours include Machattie Park, the Cathedral of St Michael and St John and a guided journey through Mayfield Garden narrated by celebrity horticulturalist Graeme Ross.
Mr Cove said there is a tour of Hill End currently in development for the app.'
"Bringing Bathurst's heritage to life has always been a challenge, but this app merges old with new in an informative and interactive way," he said.
"All you need is a phone and a sense of adventure, and we're excited for this app's potential to grow."
The app was developed as a partnership between Bathurst Regional Council and multimedia developer Acoustiguide.
An official launch for the app is in the works for late July or early August.
