Red have always had Black's measure since the club moved to a two-team setup in the top grade but that all changed on Friday night.
And it changed in a much more one-sided fashion that anyone could have anticipated.
Panorama Black ran out 5-1 winners and in the process set up an exciting top-of-the-table meeting with Lithgow Workmans on Thursday night.
Henry Simmons and Jake Single each scored a brace for Black while Jaydon Howarth also got on the scoreboard.
Jarrah Hale found the sole Red goal, which came well after the damage had been done by his opposing clubmates.
Adding to the win for Black was the fact it came with some of their key players absent.
Double goalscorer Simmons said there was a hint of concern before the game's start but it quickly went away once the first goal came.
"It all managed to work out in our favour in the end. We were missing Jacob Soetens, who's the top scorer in the league at the moment, and he's one of those guys who is on everyone's watch list," he said.
"Our player-coach Ricky Guihot was missing as well and another one of our strikers. We were a little worried, especially considering we hadn't beaten this guys in six or sevens attempts, but we came out with a lot more intent.
"I think they were a bit shocked and probably thought it might have been a bit easier than what it was."
Simmons opened the scoring with a scrappy attempt but followed that up just minutes later with a goal of the opposite quality, striking a beautiful attempt from the top of the box into the upper right corner for a 2-0 lead.
Black didn't drop off the intensity and before half-time they pushed the margin out to three.
"We said to ourselves not to get too excited and we expected them to come out and give it to us. We wanted to keep playing the way we were playing and hit them on the counter attack," Simmons said.
"They had a lot of chances throughout the game and our goalkeeper made some great saves ... as did their keeper."
Black were able to keep their intensity high and through two early second half goals they put the result to bed.
