YEAR 10 students at Kelso High School are "Fit to Learn" after completing a PCYC program which upskills the students for both their senior school years and the workforce.

The term-long program sees participants learn how to prepare resumes, and complete their first aid certificates.
They also learn other skills, and graduate with a barista's certificate.
Senior Constable Rikki Bowden, from the PCYC said the course is about getting students job ready by allowing them to further develop intellectual and social skills.
She said the program encourages participants to explore their strengths in building respectful relationships within the school environment whilst also developing emotional intelligence skills preparing them for future employment.

"The course goes for eight weeks and it's run every term," she said adding Bathurst High students alternate term about in the program.
Sophie Williams, who is in Year 10 at Kelso High School said she loved the course.
"It was really helpful, especially the first aid," she said.
Sophie said she plans to do her HSC, and feels the course will assist her with her school studies.
She said she would definitely recommend it to other students.
"Overall it was really fun, we got a lot out of it," she said.
Senior Constable Bowden thanked the program graduates for their hard work, and everyone who was involved in bringing the program to the students. The students received their certificates from Chief Inspector Glen Cogdell.
