Having spent most of the Bulldogs' 2019 Blowes Clothing Cup campaign thus far as a spectator after breaking his thumb, this Saturday at Ashwood Park talented winger Harry 'Buzz' Webber will return to the starting line up.
He earns his place in the first XV after a successful return from injury last Saturday - Webber scoring a hat-trick in second grade then crossing in the top grade after being injected off the bench.
"The enigmatic Buzz Webber will be returning to our first grade side on the wing. He's our leading try scorer from 2018, it's great to have him back," first grade coach Dean Oxley said.
"It was a bit of a long term injury, he was on the sideline for such a long time. It's great to have him back, his energy is infectious and really an important part of the way we play. It defines us in a way in regards to the speed of play that we enjoy.
"We hated him being a spectator too. There was plenty of volume coming from the crowd when Buzz was in the crowd, so we are happy to have him back on the field and using his energy productively," Oxley added with a laugh.
Though being without a player of Webber's talent - he's got speed to burn, a strong fend, hits like a brick wall in defence and frequently pilfers - was a blow for Bulldogs, they have continued to win in his absence.
Already this season the Bulldogs have beaten the Roos twice - 36-19 in Dubbo and 57-13 at Ashwood. Still, Oxley knows having Webber back makes his back line that much more imposing.
"We've played good footy without him ... but he's a strike weapon," Oxley said.
"Having him, he takes half chances and makes them tries. He has good energy off the ball, he has energy in defence - he contributes throughout the whole 80 minutes.
"He's solely focused on a Blowes Cup. That is what is driving him and pushing him at training while he hasn't been able to play."

As well as Webber coming back into the starting XV, skipper Peter Fitzsimmons returns from injury as well. He will slot into number 8.
Matt Trapp, who was a member of the Caldwell Cup winning Central West outfit, will start in the front row, as will the experienced Adam Dwyer. That gives Oxley the chance to rest Harry Peacock.
Oxley hopes that the new combinations can fire against a Roos outfit which has shown improved form.
"Since that game when we beat them, Dubbo have beaten City, beaten Cowra convincingly at Cowra 59-17, they've beaten Forbes, they had a bonus-point loss to Emus with a late try to Emus - so they have been really moving forward," Oxley said.
"We are expecting a really tough encounter. They've got Mark Baldwin back playing ... he's the captain of Central West and will be there playing alongside Shaun McHugh. Both of them made the Country train on squad and they've also got Tim Beach who played Central West."
Saturday's match at Ashwood Park starts at 3.15pm.
