On Monday, crews were working to erect the structure that will house the skating lounge, where people can prepare for their sessions.
The platform that will support the ice rink has also sprung up.
Thousands of litres of water will be used in the coming days to create the frozen skating surface.
And if you look up, the fairy lights have been strung over the top of the ice rink.
The Bathurst Winter Festival will open on Saturday, with the first ice skating session scheduled for 9am.
The ferris wheel and two-storey carousel will also open at 9am on Saturday.
Russell Street will be closed between William and George streets from now until July 27 to allow for the setup of the festival, use of the attractions and their eventual dismantling.
Church and Keppel streets will also have temporary road closures in place during the festival, but only on the major days of the festival.
