St Stanislaus' College student Jack Lynch was elected as mayor on Tuesday, while Scots All Saints College student Natalia Burgess presumed the role of deputy mayor.
Both Mr Lynch and Ms Burgess had to prepare a speech and present it in front of the Bathurst Youth Council, which totalled in 14 people.
Both served on the council last year, with Mr Lynch saying there was no doubt he wanted to come back in 2019.
"To come back for my second year, it was a no-brainer, a really good decision," he said.
The year 11 student is the current vice-captain of Justins House and he's looking to go to university and study law after he graduates.
Ms Burgess is also a current year 11 student at Scots All Saints College, who has had previous leadership roles.
"I was lucky enough to be the captain of the All Saints' College junior school in 2014," she said.
In her spare time she plays hockey for St Pat's, as well as basketball.
