A change in executive roles is on the cards for Denison College with principal Craig Petersen set to step into a new role starting from next term.

Mr Petersen has been announced as the acting president of the NSW Secondary Principals' Council [SPC], and will hold the position until June 2020.
His new role will see existing Kelso High Campus principal Mick Sloan step in as relieving Denison College principal, with current Kelso High deputy principal Stephanie Scott assuming Mr Sloan's role.
Mr Petersen said he has felt honoured to have been a part of Denison College's emergence in the Bathurst region.
"When I first arrived, the college's structure was focused solely around shared courses, but the expansion into combined sporting and cultural activities has helped bring Bathurst and Kelso High closer together," he said.
"The 10th anniversary celebrations in 2017 really drove home how far we've come as a combined college, and we're now regarded statewide as a model multi-campus secondary institution."
Mr Petersen has held the role of Denison College principal since 2011 and has been deputy president of the SPC since 2014.
The SPC is a professional body working closely with the NSW Department of Education and state government on matters involving public secondary schools.
Mr Petersen said he is looking forward to representing the interests of the state's secondary school principals on a larger stage.
"The big issue facing public schools at the moment is staffing, and we need to ensure we're attracting quality applicants to every secondary school in NSW." he said.
"Every student deserves to have the best teachers in front of them regardless of where they live, and I want to help raise the profile of public education throughout the state."
As Mr Petersen's successor, Mr Sloan hopes to continue building on Denison College's push for educational excellence.
"A lot of work has gone into reviewing our curriculum, and it's all about providing opportunities for students to develop their learning and set themselves up for a bright future," he said.
"Both campuses have their own distinctive character, and I'm looking forward to further developing the relationship between Bathurst and Kelso High."
In her new role, Ms Scott will aim to build on Mr Sloan's leadership by promoting Kelso High's vibrant academic and extra-curricular programs.
"There's such a breadth of opportunities for students, and I'm looking forward to taking the reins of this wonderful school," she said.
