The Australian Fossil and Mineral Museum is offering torchlight tours of the facility during the school holidays that the whole family can enjoy.
Dinosaurs in the Dark is by no means a new event and is always very popular.
"Everybody loves dinosaurs and it is quite a unique experience," museums manager Emma McLean said.
"It's not something you get to do every day and it's authentic.
"What else is appealing about it is that it's a chance to have a guided tour of the museum and ask any questions."
The tour coincides with the Bathurst Winter Festival, a time when many community members are happy to venture out into the dark for entertainment.
The first tour, which sold out, was held on Tuesday and there are three more to come on Thursday this week, and Tuesday and Thursday next week. All tours start at 7pm.
Tickets cost $15 for adults, $10 for concessions and $7 for children. Children who are under the age of five can participate for free. There is also a family ticket, which costs $35.
Bookings are essential and can be made by calling the museum on 6331 5511.
