THERE'S a nightly transformation happening in Russell Street.
As the sun goes down, the lights sparkle to life for the Bathurst Winter Festival, creating a festive atmosphere in the middle of the city during the coldest time of the year.
Western Advocate photographer Phil Blatch captured that transformation on Monday night and we've collected his photos here.
The festival was first held to celebrate the city's bicentenary in 2015, but has since secured its place on the city's calendar.
It draws crowds in the thousands for the major Saturday night events each year.
