The bridge, which takes heavy traffic when Mount Panorama hosts a motor sport event such as the Bathurst 1000, Bathurst 12 Hour or Bathurst 6 Hour, was put back in place by the help of crane.
Bathurst Regional Council contractors originally commenced work back in May to carry out refurbishment works.
Bathurst mayor Graeme Hanger said the footbridge is around 20 years old and he explained that it was due to be refurbished, in order to extend the bridge's life for years to come.
"The steelwork required painting to keep it at a high level of strength to extend its life," he said.
Motor sports will get the first chance to test out how the refurbished footbridge will hold up when Mount Panorama hosts the 2019 Bathurst 1000 from Thursday, October 10, to Sunday, October 13.
