The event helped to launch the Bathurst Winter Festival, bringing together rides, music, food, illuminations and more.
This is the fifth time the festival has been held and each year council's events team makes small tweaks to improve the experience.
A big change this year was expanding the footprint of the festival for Ignite the Night to include one block of Keppel Street, which helped reduce congestion around the food stalls.
Mayor Graeme Hanger said that it was very effective, with people commenting that they had more room to move around.
