Bathurst Bulldogs always look forward to a matchup with defending Blowes Clothing Cup champions Orange Emus but when there's a minor premiership on the line you know there's going to be an extra level of intensity.
Bulldogs welcome the Emus to Ashwood Park on Saturday looking to turn around the result from the last time they faced the Orange men - their only loss in what has otherwise been a near flawless season.
Bathurst coach Dean Oxley said the 26-24 defeat at Endeavour Oval kick started a successful improvement phase for the squad.
"We'll be measuring our growth from this game. Getting beaten by Emus was a setback. It's a game we've reviewed and we've improved significantly since then," he said.
"The test is whether on this Saturday we can produce that quality under pressure.
"Our game against Forbes last week was a game we really needed. Being down with 15 minutes to go hasn't been a part of our season.
"For us to be in that position, with Forbes playing some of the their best football I've seen in recent years, and for us to weather that storm ... helped us gain a lot from it."

Fighting spirit was on full display in the 36-22 win last round and Oxley knows the team needs more of it to secure the minor premiership this weekend.
"Our intensity in defence let us down against Emus last time. We gave them too much time and space and they made us pay," he said.
"We played a lot differently when we played them in Bathurst and I'm looking forward to returning home and seeing how the boys play on memorial day."
With fullback Joe Nash and lock Justin Mobbs away on country duty the Bulldogs will be making a couple of changes to their lineup.
Jock Suttor slots directly into lock for Mobbs while Phil Tonkin moves from inside centre to take Nash's role at fullback.
Adam Plummer jumps up to starting centre and Brad Glasson returns to starting scrum half.
The game starts 3.15pm.
