Police facts tendered to the court told how on Tuesday April 2, 2019, Kennedy attended Services NSW on the Mitchell Highway, Bathurst to attempt a driving test for his provisional licence.
When Kennedy was told by the driving instructor he had failed the test he became angry and walked out of the office.
As he walked through the glass sliding door at the front entrance of the building he punched the glass with a closed right fist causing the glass pane to shatter, before leaving the area.
The entire incident was captured on the building's CCTV, and staff who witnessed the incident contacted police.
Kennedy was able to be identified by staff using CCTV footage as well as his licence application form he filled out and signed before taking the driving test.
Two days later on April 4, Kennedy was contacted by police, they wanted him to come to Bathurst Police Station, but he told them he was unable to come down as he had already returned to Doonside.
He declined to provide a formal version of events to the police but was happy to speak about the incident on the phone.
The court heard he made full and frank admissions about the incident to the officers and was very remorseful about what he had done.
He indicated to police he was overcome with anger at failing the test for the second time and didn't want to hurt anyone so he took his frustration out on the door.
The damaged glass door has since been repaired at a cost of $323.90.
