It is expected that once complete, the expanded industrial precinct will support an additional 100 jobs in the city.
The funding will allow an additional five hectares of the already in-demand industrial park to be developed, with the project delivering critical lead-in infrastructure to support the expanded site, including the construction of roads, storm water drainage and connection to critical services including water and sewerage.
Deputy Premier, and Minister for Regional NSW, John Barilaro, joined local member Paul Toole, and Mayor of Bathurst, Graeme Hanger at the project site on Sunday, where the funding announcement was made.
The funding comes from the NSW Government's Drought Stimulus Package.
Mr Barilaro said the funding will facilitate business development and attraction within the Bathurst region, supporting industry growth and generating employment.
Member for Bathurst, Paul Toole, said the "shovel ready" project would provide infrastructure industry needed to expand and become more efficient.
"The project is ready to go, and its construction will generate immediate economic activity and jobs here in Bathurst, which is doing it tough because of the drought.
"This is exactly the type of project the NSW Government wants to back through the Drought Stimulus Package, to keep regional economies going," he said.
Bathurst Regional Council will contribute $920,000 to the development project, which will cost $5.83 million in total.
Mayor of Bathurst, Graeme Hanger, welcomed the funding saying it would boost the local economy.
"This project will provide work during construction and beyond for local workers and suppliers across the Bathurst region, who will spend money in local shops and reinvest their earnings in their business, which is great news for the local economy." He thanked the Government for supporting the project.
