And since parkrun's launch three years ago, there's been 157 events and 3611 runners (if you combine every individual runner from every event) for a total of 29,931 runs, 5,699 personal bests and 149,655 kilometres run.

Come this Saturday on July 27, the Bathurst community will celebrate three years of parkrun.

Two people that have been key to the events success in the past three years are Stephen Jackson and Jennifer Arnold.

Ms Arnold said the event has grown incredibly since its first race.

"Even in the freezing cold last Saturday, we had 156 people and we even had a few first timers," she said.

While the event is called parkrun, Ms Arnold said that it's not just for runners but walkers as well.

"It's not a race but a run and you're always comparing your results to your last run, not against other people," she said.

"It's very inclusive and we even have a Lithgow family that comes up with their kid who's in a wheelchair because they prefer this course. We also have cancer patients who are either having treatment or recovering."

From the 157 runs, Brandon Martin has run the quickest time at 16 minutes and 41 seconds.

That record was clocked up in just the second ever edition of Bathurst parkrun.

Joasia Zakrzewski ran the fastest time for a female, finishing in 18 minutes and 50 seconds at event five in August, 2016.

The average run time at parkrun is 35 minutes and 38 seconds, with an average of 190.6 runners at each event.

Bathurst parkrun gets underway this Saturday at 8am from Bicentennial Park, taking competitors on a five kilometre loop around Macquarie River.
