Kiki Dee, best known for her 1976 duet Don't Go Breaking My Heart with Sir Elton John, will perform in Bathurst as part of her first Australian tour. She will be accompanied by Carmelo Luggeri, who has been Dee's chief musical collaborator since the 1990s.
Dee said the tour would carve out new territory for the duo's musical career.

"It's going to be very interesting to see how people react to our performance and we're looking forward to the challenge," she said. "We'll offer audiences an eclectic, semi-acoustic experience."
Hailing from Bradford, West Yorkshire, Dee's five decades in the music industry have spawned 12 albums, three EPs and 40 singles. But she is best remembered for her famous duet which, she said, came about via a simple phone call.
"I met this guy called John Reid and he introduced me to Elton and things hit off from there," she said.
"It was one of those 'sliding door' events in my life where things could've been completely different had that phone call never been answered."
Don't Go Breaking My Heart reached number one in nine countries and went gold in the UK and platinum in the United States.
With Sir Elton set to perform in Bathurst himself next year, Dee said it was fantastic to see a musician of his calibre taking a tour to smaller communities.
"The bigger cities often get spoilt with entertainment options, so I think it's good when artists perform outside metropolitan areas," she said.
Party like it's 1976 ...
Dee said audiences can expect a diverse show with both original music and well-known covers.
"The biggest high I get from music is when a song you've written forges a meaningful connection with the audience," she said.
"You can't judge an audience by their age, as some people's musical tastes may come at a surprise."
Kiki Dee and Carmelo Luggeri will perform at BMEC on Saturday, August 10. Tickets from www.bmec.com.au.
