Member for Calare Andrew Gee made the announcement back in March, 2019, that $1 million had been allocated towards both the Bathurst Regional Council and Lithgow City Council to aid in the ongoing relief effort.
He confirmed that the allocated money is available and is in the process of being accessed and spent.
"The $1 million allocated to Bathurst Regional Council under the Drought Communities Program is available and is in the process of being accessed and spent," he explained.
"The [Bathurst Regional] Council has submitted an application for 14 very worthwhile projects across the local government area to be funded through the program.
"This application is currently being assessed, and once this process is finalised council will be notified and funds made available."
While he didn't confirm a date on when funds will be made available, he did say that successful projects will be announced "in the near future".
Bathurst Regional Council confirmed an announcement on the successful nominations will be made at the same time as Mr Gee.
When the announcement was made back in March that $1 million had been allocated to Bathurst council, Mr Gee said it was to give the region a much needed boost as it struggled through a drought that has affected a majority of NSW.
Funding will aid a range of benefactors including farmers, tradespeople and retailers.
Since November 26, 2018, Bathurst has been on level three water restrictions, which affects what time residents can water their lawn and garden, wash their car and top-up their swimming pool.
