The school is asking for $111,550 to help develop a path from its garden gateway through the heritage garden and to the main hall, while also upgrading its drainage.
Eglinton principal Vicki O'Rourke explained the heritage garden was the first phase of upgrades.
"It was originally dusty and unkept before one parent helped design the garden and get the infrastructure in place," she explained.
"If we're successful with the grant, phase two will see the drainage improved because when it rains, we have flooding issues.
"Phase three would see the path installed and if we can get people to stick to the path, we want to turf the ground around it and build a garden.
"We'd also like to get a shade structure over the play equipment. We've got trees but we need more protection from the heat in summer."
If the project is successful in receiving a grant, work would take place during the school holidays.
