SASC was one of was 10 teams which began the season in A grade, the students having made the step up to test themselves against some more experienced rivals in 2019.
But after nine rounds the premiership was split into A grade and a newly formed A reserve I to battle it out over the rest of the season.
SASC missed the cut for that top four by just one win.
But undeterred, the students made a statement in their first A reserve I match by posting a 41-40 win against Mana - an outfit which boosts more experience.
This Saturday SASC will look to build on that success against Panthers Mustangs, a team they bettered 46-36 before the competition split.
They meet at 3.45pm. In other A reserve I games, Mana will take on Bulldogs Hurricanes from 1.15pm while CSU Hawkes and Panthers Toshacks meet at 2.30pm.
