The owner of Camilleri Farms, an intensive vegetable growing enterprise, has put three properties up for sale with Ray White Emms Mooney.

Real estate agent Stewart Murphy said the sale was sparked by the owner's decision to expand their operations further west.

"He's got the opportunity to expand further and needs more scale, which is hard to find in this area," he said.

The farms available provide excellent opportunities, with Mr Murphy noting that the last one purchased by the owner had been "taken to the next level" in the years since.

"He's got very good farming practices, is extremely hard working and developed this property even more than it was already," he said.

Farm one spans 87.91 hectares, with the total irrigated area approximately 86ha, and includes three working sheds.

The second property, farm two, offers 41.6ha of land fully set up for irrigation, with two houses and two huge sheds totaling 3200 square metres in area.

Farm three is smaller than the other two at 35.6ha, and offers brand new irrigation lines, two new pumps, three new centre pivots and an old house.

As the farms are owned by a horticulturalist, they have and can continue to be used to grow a variety of produce, including potatoes, lettuce, cauliflower and cabbage.

The farms are available to purchase as a block or individually, with the latter expected to be the end result.

All of the properties are scheduled to go to auction on September 6, if not sold prior.

Mr Murphy said there had already been a lot of inquiry about the farms, both locally and from well outside of the region.

Parties from western Sydney, Victoria, Queensland and as far away as Indonesia have expressed interest in Camilleri Farms.

When asked if the ongoing drought made people reluctant to invest in agricultural land, Mr Murphy said "we are better off than most other areas".

"It will change, hopefully sooner rather than later but agricultural investors take a longer term view," he said.

"We are finding that the out of area irrigators are looking for diversification in climate and water supplies and Camilleri Farms offers that."
