I can only imagine what it's like to wake up day after day to find the landscape blanketed in white and to be forced to scrape a few inches of snow off the car just to get to work.
However, I imagine it would get pretty old pretty quick.
It's probably because it snows so infrequently in Bathurst, particularly in the CBD and suburbs, that the region gets so genuinely excited when it does happen.
Saturday's snow had been forecast for a week but we've had our expectations built up before only to be disappointed.
Few would have been disappointed by the falls on Saturday, though, except maybe the junior sportspeople who had their games called off because of the weather.
But the rare - and unplanned - weekend off just added to the magic of the morning.
Who didn't enjoy sitting inside watching the flurries come down, with nowhere in particular to be?
Too often these days we get caught up always doing something; we've forgotten the joy of doing nothing.
You wouldn't want to do it every weekend, but the occasional morning of nothing can only be a good thing.
