CSU Yellow spent the majority of the final under heavy attack from CSU Blue, but kept the scoreboard clean and took their chances in the final two minutes to win the New Era Mid West league tag competition 4-0.

With both teams tied heading into the final minutes at Diggings Oval on Saturday, April Rich scored the winning try in the corner, sealing the premiership to the delight of all her team-mates and leaving Blue in anguish.
Prior to that, CSU Blue spent the majority of the match on the front foot, dominating possession and keeping play primarily in Yellow's half of the field.
Yellow showcased their clinical defensive skills, saving many potential tries.
Ashleigh Travers especially showed her skill and accuracy with her rapid tagging.
Whilst Blue did cross the try line multiple times their efforts were called back.
Twice they were denied after forward passes, while another was disallowed after a long consultation between referee and linesman.
Yellow captain Kate Rooney was ecstatic with the result and was very proud of her team for holding on during Blue's relentless attack.
"This is amazing, so amazing, it was a bloody good game," Rooney said.
"We had such an amazing defence. We were defending for about 90 per cent of the game, but it was just by luck and a few good plays that we got to get one in the corner. It was an amazing effort from the girls."
With both teams scoreless at half-time, Rooney said that the message to the Yellow players was to just have fun, and those words delivered for the team.

"In the second half, we just said we need to get out there and enjoy our game," Rooney said.
"We play our best when we are having fun and doing what we love to do, I think that was kind of it. We are always really positive and just getting around each other."
With the league tag final being an all-CSU affair for the second consecutive year and Yellow becoming premiers for the fourth straight year, Rooney said celebrating together is important part of the Mungals culture.
"It is some of these girls' last game and we want to be respectful to them, they played such an amazing game," Rooney said.
"I can't give them enough credit with how well they played, so it is really just a bit of a team effort from everyone. We will definitely all be supporting each other."
Yellow fullback Sarah Evans was named player of the match and after a successful 2019 season, Yellow's triumph was worthy of lifting the trophy, and their captain high above them.
