The man's vehicle had left the road and rolled a number of times.
He was initially trapped by the leg, freed from the car and taken to Orange Base Hospital with rib and leg injuries.
Police were told the man has since left Orange Base Hospital.
Inquiries are continuing.
Inspector Gerard Powell from Chifley Police said the crash highlighted the importance of slowing down and driving to conditions, given the treacherous weather conditions faced by the region at the moment.
