The company is currently searching for a location and a franchisee. General manager of business development, Nick Avgerinos, says Bathurst is the perfect location for a Cheesecake Shop franchise.

"We had an analysis done on each of our stores and Bathurst really suits our demographic," he said.

"Another reason we picked Bathurst is the distinct lack of competition ... there is no dedicated cake shop."

The company already has a successful franchise in the Central West, with a popular store open in Orange.

Mr Avgerinos says a local Cheesecake Shop franchise would be the perfect opportunity for a first-time business owner.

"You don't need any previous experience in business or any skill in baking," he said.

"There is a five-week training course to teach the operation side of things ... the main skill we're looking for in a franchisee is great people skills and ability to follow our system."

The Cheesecake Shop is one of Australia's favourite brands with over four million cakes sold every year.

There are currently 220 Cheesecake Shop franchises and a recent market study showed that 95 per cent of Australians, when prompted, were aware of the Cheesecake Shop.
