Hone your poetry slam writing and performance skills at a special workshop at Bathurst Library from 4-6pm. The workshop will feature last year's Australian Poetry Slam champion, Melanie Mununggurr-Williams, and will be followed by the Bathurst heat of this nationwide search for Australia's best slammer. The Theo Barker Memorial Lecture will be held at BMEC at 6.30pm. This free public lecture is co-hosted by Bathurst District Historical Society and Bathurst Regional Council. Come along to a workshop at Rankin Cottage from 10.30am to noon and learn how to do candlewick embroidery. Candlewicking is a form of embroidery that traditionally uses an unbleached cotton thread on a piece of unbleached calico. The Macquarie Care Centre Auxiliary is looking forward to another year of fundraising and always welcomes new members to meetings.
