Small fields last week due to the arctic blast that hit the region, the 'best' of the days was definitely Thursday and it saw the magnificent beast that is David Clews return a solid 38 points to win A grade from Andrew Stapleton and Lester "Bradshaw" Colley after they both had 37 points. Robert Payne once again made his journey from Orange a fruitful one after 33 points picked him up the scratch prize.

A three-way tie at the top of B grade was the end result as Ian Hart, Eric Denholm, and Neil Adams all fired 37 points, in the end, Hart stood tall to be anointed the victor. Shaun Elphick was the scratch recipient on 19 points. Stapleton was well supported by David Gates as they compiled 46 points to win the 2BBB on count-back over Elphick and Steve Finnerty. The 'veterans' Kevin Callaughan and Tony Pryce were the scratch winners with 31 points. Congratulations to Jane Williams who defeated Toni Pender 4/3 to be crowned the winner of the Glanmire Matchplay Final, Margaret Kullen proved too strong for Val Stuart (3/2) in taking out the repechage event.
A 'brave' contingent of 33 players enjoyed the British Open style conditions on Saturday, eventually, the top gong went to our favourite Frenchman Andre Schuster who channeled his inner Alps to fire 36 points for a count-back win over Kel Cooke. Greg Murray managed 35pts for third and the scratch has gone the way of John Young on 28 points. Ray Curtis was the last man standing out of a field of 6 on Sunday with a nice 33 points, well done Ray on not feeling the cold!
