IMPROVISE, adapt and overcome - it is an unofficial moto of the marines, but it is one which Bathurst's Shadows Sidecar Racing outfit could use too.

Last year at the Australian Titles, Sean Griffiths and his swinger Mick Bryant were looking for a strong run after qualifying for the final.
But the decider did not play out as they had hoped. Their entry hit the wall.
Fortunately the pair were able to walk away from the incident, but the bike was damaged.
It was repaired and sold off, leaving Griffiths and Bryant having to adapt to the challenges of competing on a Yamaha R1000cc.
"This bike has been around the track for quite a few years, it has a 2004 1000cc engine," Griffiths said.
"So Mick and I have spent this year a bit quiet as we have been just working on gelling together and working the bike out, making it run and handle to suit us."

Though needing to adjust, the Bathurst team has certainly improvised well and overcome plenty of challenges. They current sit second in the Cowra club championship, while last weekend at Bega they impressed at the two-day Far South Coast Cup.
"This is one event we really enjoy. We were up against some very quick teams, including the very fast Frame boys, also from Bathurst," Griffiths said. "Day one, we had some very good starts but, the bike had a few bugs which we got sorted Saturday night. We worked out a few changes to be done.
"Sunday, we ran much better and finished all races over the weekend with some very good, tight racing. The Frame team won the weekend, with us coming in fourth, but very happy with how we are coming together."
The Shadows Sidecar Racing duo are now focused on a busy period which lies ahead with the Classic Masters, Australian Dirt Track Titles and East Coast Sidecar Roundup.
"This year is all about growing as we have the new bike and the big races coming up through September and October," Griffiths said.
"We have also stepped up and purchased a speedway sidecar. This bike is totally different, and we race in the opposite direction and we are looking forward to giving it a good run soon.
"We are still looking for sponsors to help us out. We understand that money can be hard but, sponsorship can also be goods or services, items like tyres, motor maintenance, or riding gear are all welcomed if anyone is interested. We have picked up some sponsorship, including Diveaway Fiji which is awesome."
